ROCKFORD, MICH. – Rockford-­based power and technology solutions manufacturer,
Byrne, announced a collaboration with Detroit-­based Shinola on a recently released
power accessory, Shinola Power Supply. Byrne and Shinola collaborated on product
design, development, and manufacturing.
The innovative power accessory meets consumer demand for a combination of
convenient power sources including 125v power and charging USB. The product is
available in Shinola retail stores nation-­wide and online at www.shinola.com.
“Shinola exemplifies great American design and craftsmanship, and we are thrilled to
collaborate with them to bring an innovative power accessory to consumers,” said Byrne
Managing Director, Dan Byrne. “This partnership was a natural fit. Both Byrne and
Shinola have a strong commitment to well-­crafted products. Since 1979, Byrne has
been designing, manufacturing, and distributing high-­quality technology products in
West Michigan and the Shinola Power Supply is just another chapter in that history.”
Byrne employs over 600 people between its two Michigan locations in Rockford and
Lakeview. The company recently opened the new manufacturing facility in Lakeview to
handle production of the Shinola Power Supply. Construction of that manufacturing and
collaborative workspace began Fall 2015, and it currently houses over 30 full-­time
The Lakeview expansion emphasizes Byrne’s commitment to community, employee
well-­being and design. The new facility features large windows with an abundance of
natural light, and a large deck overlooking adjacent Tamarack Lake. Before Byrne
opened the facility, the site sat vacant for almost 40 years after housing a sawmill and
later a pickle company.
Byrne designs and manufactures products to serve a wide range of industries, including
contract furniture, hospitality, education, residential, and healthcare environments, with
over 100 customers across the West Michigan area.
